I have been meaning to post this MetaFilter story for sometime. I caught this line on Twitter and couldn't resist clicking - "But by the time I rounded the corner my father was already in middle of landing dozens of punches to the coke machine."

hello.... i know this might seem stupid but rum diary book is the same as fear and loathing in las vagas movie no ???

Hi there, nope, they're different. The Rum Diary is set much earlier than Las Vegas, which is from 1971. There is supposed to be a Rum Diary movie made, but haven't heard any news about it lately.
